Eastwood-Whelpton provides traditional yachts and modern sailing boats for hire on the Norfolk Broads for over 45 years. All the yachts are maintained and fitted to very high standards and every customer receives personal attention and help, and advice is freely available for beginners.

Upton Yacht Station is situated in the heart of Broadland's best sailing area, a perfect location to set sail in any direction you choose, along rivers with virtually no trees to restrict sailing breezes. A suitable yacht can be found to cater for the needs of all types of holiday - ranging from those with little or no experience, right up to the confident and experienced sailors. All the yachts have a comprehensive sailing inventory, well-equipped galleys with hot and cold water, fridges, and cabin heating.

Created from Mediaeval peat diggings which rising sea levels have flooded, the Broads include not just the lakes themselves but also the rivers, dykes and cuts that connect them: nearly 140 miles of slow flowing, easy going waters, ideal for cruising under sail. Listen to the silence and observe the wildlife almost oblivious to your passing; sailing here is about the sound of water and discovering the quiet beauty of the area

Getting There

Approach the turn with caution or otherwise you will miss it. The turn is before the slip road to Acle which is also signed Upton - if you do miss the turn you can follow the signs through Acle to Upton. On entering the village, continue to the White Horse public house and turn right opposite the pub. Turn left into Boat Dyke Road and follow the lane to the end and turn left into the boatyard.
