Gilpin Lodge is situated just a short distance from Windermere, set in a tranquil twenty acres of private country gardens, moors and woodland in the Lake District National Park
The hotel hosts a range of luxurious individually styled bedrooms, which contain an en-suite bathroom with white fluffy bathrobes, and Molton Brown toiletries. The rooms also contain a sitting area, TV, telephone, radio, hairdryer, trouser press and complimentary coffee and tea tray with homemade biscuits. Gilpin Lodge has recently built six garden suites for that extra bit of luxury and are ideal for a romantic break, with glass-fronted lounge areas leading to individual gardens with outdoor cedarwood hot tubs.
If luxurious bedrooms are not enough, Gilpin Lodge hosts four dining rooms with their own individual character and style. The hotel has won numerous awards for its cuisine including a Michelin star and three AA rosettes for food. Guests can expect a full English breakfast, or alternatively Canadian style pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup, or local smoked salmon and free-range scrambled eggs. The lunches and evening meals are just as spectacular with a range of fresh modern cuisine and an excellent wine list with nearly 200 wines from 13 different countries. For those who have trouble deciding, the staff are more than happy to help you make a choice, which will compliment your meal.
