White Cube Hoxton was set up as a second, larger gallery space by Jay Jopling in 2000, inside a former 1920's light industrial building, housing an uninterrupted exhibition space, with free admission.
A new independent space "Inside the White Cube" dedicated to 12 month long exhibitions was launched in 2002, after extending the building to encompass two new floors, viewing galleries, conference space, offices and related spaces.
The gallery runs an imaginative program of solo and group exhibitions, showcasing a diverse range of artists, encompassing all mediums. The White Cube has featured the work of high profile contemporary artists such as, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Tracy Emin, Mark Quinn, Antony Gormley and Damien Hirst.
Hoxton has a thriving arts community and vibrant culture, with an abundance of galleries, public art spaces, bars, clubs and restaurants. Many abandoned warehouses have been converted into artists studios and the East End of London has the highest concentration of artists in Europe.
