D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum

David Herbert Lawrence - novelist, playwright, poet and artist - was born at 8A Victoria Street, Eastwood on 11th September 1885. The house has been carefully restored and refurbished to reflect the lifestyle of the working class of Victorian times, and the early childhood of Lawrence himself.

The museum contains various exhibition rooms, a video presentation of his Eastwood days, a model and viewing room of "The Country of His Heart" and interpretations of the novelists travel abroad.

There is a gift shop at the museum that has a Victorian essence and special D H Lawrence gifts are available along with Victorian children's toys and games.
