David Herbert Lawrence - novelist, playwright, poet and artist - was born at 8A Victoria Street, Eastwood on 11th September 1885. The house has been carefully restored and refurbished to reflect the lifestyle of the working class of Victorian times, and the early childhood of Lawrence himself.

The museum contains various exhibition rooms, a video presentation of his Eastwood days, a model and viewing room of "The Country of His Heart" and interpretations of the novelists travel abroad.

There is a gift shop at the museum that has a Victorian essence and special D H Lawrence gifts are available along with Victorian children's toys and games. Take back a present in wood, metal or glass and buy reproductions of original Victorian greetings cards. A fabulous and informative day out for the whole family

Opening Times
The Lawrence Museum is open daily: 10:00 until 17:00 April to October 10:00 until 16:00 November to March Open Sundays and Bank Holidays Closed 24th December until January 1st inclusive

Adjacent to the Museum are various craft workshops. Watch the owners at work and take home a souvenir of your visit.
