On specified days Fursdon House and garden in Exeter are open to the public. The Fursdon family has lived on this site for more than 700 years. David and Catriona Fursdon took over the stewardship of the estate in 1979 and warmly invite visitors to tour certain parts of the house. The rooms you will see date from different periods in history - mediaeval, Jacobean, Georgian and Regency - and are in constant use by the present family.
A tour offers you the opportunity to glimpse the life and times of the squires of Fursdon and their family in the community, which has thrived here over seven centuries.
In addition to the fascinating house and museum there is the garden to explore.A path leads to Cadbury Castle an Iron Age hill fort and well known land mark which is reputedly the home of the Cadbury Dragon who protects the Fursdons of Fursdon.
