In 2003 the owners of Canterbury Country Houses took on the job of rescuing a grade II listed historic 16th century former tannery and its neighbouring oast house. The plan was to convert it to two houses for holiday accommodation. Fifteen months later the building is ready with a five star rating from the English Tourist Board.
As well as The Oast and The Old Tannery, the owners have been busy renovating another house on their farm called Ellens Cottage. This is also now ready for you to rent for your self-catering holiday. It too has a five star rating from The English Tourist Board.
Sleeping 6 The Old Tannery has three bedrooms, a large sitting room and a well-equipped kitchen, utility area and a courtyard garden, which can be accessed directly from the kitchen through French windows.
Also sleeping 6, Ellens Cottage has three bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate shower room, a large sitting room that opens through French windows into the garden, a dining room and fully equipped kitchen.
