Local Area
Broken Hill is one of those places that has a certain 'mystery' about it. There is so much to see and interesting places to go that it is best if you go to the local Visitors' Centre and decide what takes your fancy on the day, or choose from the myriad of brochures in the cottage. From historical 'pubs', to art, to mine tours, to walking trails or just the beauty and silence of going 'off road', you'll enjoy it all. Silverton (the movie capital of Broken Hill region! - Mad Max etc)- is about 23kms from the Hill is great to visit. The pub is historical, and there's a really good little Cafe up on the hill which serves a great lunch or morning/afternoon teas, and has an interesting old bottle and a doll collection. You can visit one of the art galleries and chat with the artisit, go to the Mint, or drive on a few minutes to the Mundi Mundi plains which go on forever - (go at sunset and take the champagne!).

So many people say how wonderful this or that place is - but this one was absolutely the best! Everything is provided and then some - as well as a beautiful cottage, there are things like condiments, sauces, pasta, flour, spices, jams, everything to cook with, then in their laundry all soaps, spray starch, etc just things you wouldn't normally expect are provided in a holiday cottage ...
