Southwell Minster is nestled in the heart of a Georgian village setting. All are welcome to come to the Cathedral as visitors or pilgrims. In 2008, the building shall celebrate the nine-hundredth anniversary of the start of construction of the nave.
The Minster Refectory is situated on the north side of the Minster, facing the town's main car park. The Minster Shop, where you can buy books and souvenirs of the Minster, is in the same building. There is also a 52-seater licensed restaurant that offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea-and splendid views of the Minster.
The Minster's popular Education programme, run by a part-time Education Officer, encourages children and young people to visit the Minster and to participate in a variety of activities.
