Telford Steam Railway is based at "Horsehay and Dawley" station and goods yard in Telford, which is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The Railway has many enthusiast and family "special events", such as Teddy Bears picnics and Transport Galas
The Business operate a unique narrow gauge steam tram, built for Telford Town Park, but now based at Horsehay, giving rides around the edge of Horsehay Pool. They also exhibit an extensive model railway display and the affiliated Phoenix Model Engineers operate a five-inch gauge miniature railway. Regular trains operate on all Sundays from Easter to the end of September along the original line as far as Heath Hill Tunnel. This line is being extended in both directions to eventually return to the Ironbridge Gorge.
The museum contains a souvenir shop that has much to offer including Thomas the Tank Engine toys, books and items to interest older railway enthusiasts.
