Set in the heart of the Gower Peninsula just west of Swansea, in Wales, the Gower Heritage Centre was set up in 1990 as a countryside crafts centre. The 12th century water powered corn and saw mill was renovated, other craftspeople moved here and today it is a vibrant crafts and rural life museum that welcomes visitors from all around the world. We are only 15 minutes walk from one of the most beautiful bays on Gower, Three Cliffs Bay. The whole peninsula is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has its own very distinctive culture that owes a lot to the mix of Welsh, West Country and Norman ancestry.
So whether you are interested in old water mills, looking for a day out with the family, organising coach tours or wondering about workshops for your class of 10 year olds, we are sure we have something to interest you. We are open throughout the year with a daily timetable of guided tours and demonstrations and an annual programme of special events.
