St George's Cathedral is the second building to occupy the site after the former chapel was destroyed during the blitz. Until the opening of the Westminster Cathedral St George's was the centre of Catholic worship in London.
St. George's has a fine musical tradition, with a diverse range of musical styles represented at the different Masses, encompassing family hymns and congregational style worship at the 10:00 Mass, through to instrumental and contemporary world music at the 6:00 Mass on Sundays.
St George's has a large number of active groups within the Parish, which include UCM (Union of Catholic Mothers), bible study group, choir, ABC (About Being Catholic) and friends of St George's, are just a few.
Mass Times are as follows: Sundays: 8am; 10am (Family Mass); 11.30am (Sung Mass); 1pm (Spanish Mass); 6pm (Contemporary Music). Monday-Friday: 7.30am; 12.30pm. Saturday: 9.30am; 12.30pm; 6pm. Holy Days: 7.30am; 12.30pm; 6pm.
