The Rath Barn

Situated right in the middle of what was once an ancient ring fort with a nearby souterrain, this converted barn consists of two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and upstairs sitting room. It is centrally heated and beautifully decorated with pine ceilings, floors and furnishings. Access to the building from the front is by the traditionally styled half door, with a side entrance through the kitchen by a patio door.

The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, electric hob and fan assisted oven, microwave and automatic washing machine. All pots, pans, kitchen utensils and crockery are supplied. The kitchen has also an old style solid fuel stove in an antique fireplace surround and a tiled floor. The fully tiled bathroom has a wash hand basin, toilet and shower. Both of the bedrooms have matching pine furniture to augment the pine ceilings and floors. The bedrooms also have TV points.

Stairs from the kitchen area lead to an upstairs sitting area with sofa and easy chairs. This Sitting Room has TV points and a well-stocked bookshelf. This room has a beautiful view of the lake and the South Armagh and Cooley Mountains.
