The Copper Kettle is a 14th Century heavy oak beamed listed building which has been under the same ownership since 1964. The pub offers a large reasonably priced wine list, a range of liqueurs and liqueur coffees, brandies, ports and whiskeys numbering a hundred at last count.
The pub also includes a traditional English restaurant, serving a larger than average menu which includes many speciality dishes encompassing a unique focus on oysters. Local ingredients and produce is used wherever possible.
The Copper Kettle is situated in the ancient Cinque Port town of Rye in East Sussex. Once surrounded by sea, this fortified hilltop town played an important role in the defence of the south coast of England. These days, the river no longer harbours warships and is home to the local fishing fleet.
