The Golden Hinde is a living history museum, where you can take a self-guided tour aboard a full scale replica of Sir Francis Drakes infamous 16th Century warship, which he sailed all around the world between 1577 and 1580.
The ship has five deck levels including the gun deck and 22 cannons. The Golden Hinde is an educational museum open to the public 7 days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Golden Hinde is predominantly visited by schools, who can participate in hands-on learning activities and guided tours are available for school groups with an actor dressed in period clothing.
The Golden Hinde is available for private functions and events and is licensed to hold weddings and civil ceremonies. The Golden Hinde also offers an exceptional location for film and television productions.
