Maws Craft Centre consists of over 20 individual workshops housing a wide variety of Art, Craft & Design businesses. The gallery/studio's are located in the Victorian factory of Maw & Co, once the world's largest tile manufacturer. These select businesses open most afternoons and weekends throughout the year. However, if you are planning to visit particular workshops, it's always worth a call to check their availability.
Several artists work at the Centre including a sculptor and an illustrator. There is also a framing workshop, a marketing agency, a shop selling puppets and magic products, a recording studio, a workshop repairing and restringing sports rackets and a workshop for disabled students. Do not forget to visit the award-winning Painting Shop Tearoom.
Other businesses range from more traditional crafts such as furniture making, antiques restoration and French polishing, glass, jewellery, pottery, metal work, flower arranging, greeting cards, upholstery, soft furnishings and other textiles to new technology businesses including website design and IT.
