Birmingham's National Indoor Arena is located in Solihull, near Birmingham. It is one of the busiest sporting and entertainment venues in Europe, having hosted some truly spectacular entertainment events. From the Eurovision Song Contest to performances by Paul McCartney, Oasis, REM, Whitney Houston and Russell Watson, to name but a few.
With a capacity 11,000, the NEC Arena was the largest multi-purpose arena in the UK when opening in the mid-1980s and although not the largest it is still a popular venue for touring acts. Together, The NEC and The NEC Arena host over 5 million visitors each year.
The parent NEC Group also runs the National Indoor Arena (NIA) and International Convention Centre (ICC), both in central Birmingham. The latter houses Symphony Hall, a concert venue opened in April 1991. The Venue has a huger array of facilities and is renowned for its exhibitions and shows, which vary throughout the year.
