Birmingham Cathedral is a beautiful Grade one listed building of national importance. It was designed by Thomas Archer in the English Baroque style, and built between 1709 and 1715. The building is set within a restored churchyard and contains four famous Pre-Raphaelite stained-glass windows.

The Cathedral is open every weekday from 07:30 to 18:30 (17:00 from late July to early September, and 17:00 for one week after Christmas and one week after Easter Sunday), and at weekends from 08:30 to 17:00. Free visitors' guides are available in a range of European and world languages. The Cathedral Shop, situated just inside the main entrance, is open on most days from 10:30 to 15:30, and provides a range of books, gifts and souvenirs. Fair-traded tea and coffee are also served here to visitors.

The Cathedral is situated in a beautiful square and recently restored churchyard in the heart of Birmingham's administrative and business centre. It is very close to Snow Hill and New Street stations, and many buses stop very close to it.
