The Good Britain Guide 2004 declared the Barber Institute of Fine Arts 'Gallery of the Year'. The establishment is one of the world's finest small galleries and is located in central Birmingham. The gallery contains one of the finest small collections of European art in the UK. Featuring works from the 13th to the 20th century.

Besides fantastic examples of Art, the establishment also contains a wealth of other facilities. The intimate Barber Concert Hall hosts musical events ranging from student recitals to Celebrity Concerts and the Institute also possesses one of Europe's finest collections of Byzantine coins. The new Coin Gallery illustrates the growing importance of coins as little capsules of art and history, and their key role in research, education and public enjoyment.

The Institute has a thriving education programme that caters for children, young people, and adults. It includes Public Lectures, Adult Workshops, Holiday Workshops for Children, Art Alive! and other special events throughout the year. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is a fantastic attraction for the whole family.
