Winterbourne is an example of an early 20th century suburban villa garden. The six-acre Edwardian Arts and Crafts style garden is situated on the university of Edgbaston Campus and is a haven of peace and tranquillity only 15 minutes from the city centre.

The Botanic Garden displays collections of plants from all around the world. There are over 2,500 different plants originating from as far away as Brazil and New Zealand. The house was built in 1903 and both the house and garden follow the style of the Arts & Crafts movement.

The Gardens contain three National Collections and have lots of interesting features to see including colour themed borders, a pergola, Japanese bridge and unusual sandstone rock garden.
