A bed and breakfast set within a ¾ acre site ten minutes walk from Eastbourne's town centre, Ocklynge Manor was once a monastery with 40 acres of farm land, as well as a Commandery for the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem.
The children's illustrator Mabel Lucie Attwell also lived here for a short period, hence the blue plaque on the roadside wall. The current house was built about 300 years ago, although a dwelling on the site has existed for almost a 1000 years.
Accommodation consists of three rooms; a double room with private shower/WC, a double & adjoining single with en suite bath/shower and a twin with an en suite shower/WC. All rooms include TV/DVD, tea making facilities, a hair drier and fridge. All prices include a full English breakfast.
