Peterhead Maritime Heritage is one of Aberdeenshire's latest visitor attractions, built next to the shore on South Bay, Peterhead in an award-winning building. The museum tells the story of Peterhead's maritime life, past & present in picture and sound.
The exhibitions include paintings from the collections of Aberdeenshire Heritage dealing with ships, fishing boats and the fishing industry in days gone by. There is an audio-visual display on maritime life and interactive displays on fishing, whaling, navigation and the oil industry. Admission to Peterhead Maritime Heritage is free and there is an observation box with telescopic views across Peterhead Bay.
The museum's cafe has stunning views over the bay and serves delicious freshly prepared homebakes and meals based on local produce and recipes.
