As a company the Plymouth Theatre Company formed in 1899, we are 107 years old! We are still going strong today having performed in Plymouth in three centuries

We have presented over 140 productions over the years, from Merrie England to Me And My Girl and from Calamity Jane to Crazy For You. We have not only performed musicals but also Gilbert and Sullivan, Music Hall, Vaudeville, Concerts and pantomime!

Since 1988 we've had a permanent home - a theatre that we own ourselves - the Devonport Playhouse.Not only do we perform in the Playhouse but also in Plymouth Theatre Royal. We have produced many acclaimed shows, being affiliated to NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association), and are regularly reviewed and win awards.

Recently we have won awards for our productions of Me and My Girl and Crazy For You.

Mark Sidey, local freelance director and theatre practitioner aims to teach the Plymouth Youth Theatre Company all forms of musical theatre - from vocal technique to physical movement on stage. Mark also teaches with Italia Conti Stage School and has worked with the Education Department at Plymouth Theatre Royal's TR2.
