This modest townhouse belonged to Hattie Jacques, one of the UK's best female comedy actors, who lived in colourful Earls Court for her entire life and had a long and diverse acting career.

Hattie Jacques was best known for her parts in the hilarious Carry On films and Hancock's Half Hour. Before her transition to television she spent her early career working in music halls and then moved into radio and later film.
