Chalice Hill House

Chalice Hill House is a magnificent Georgian Manor House set in its own grounds in the heart of Glastonbury. Although at the centre of town it backs on to the legendary Chalice Hill and is shielded from the bustle of the town by ancient oak trees. A path runs from the house through fields to Glastonbury Tor and the famous St Michaels Tower. A short walk takes you down to the high street with its cornucopia of new age shopping.

The house and its large gracious rooms has recently been restored and redecorated with flair and taste the style is modern classic and retains many of the original features.

The garden is large and very pretty and has views of the town and the Somerset levels beyond, with a wonderful evening view of the medieval St Johns Church Spire with the sun behind it. One of the main features of the gardens are the ancient (and much hugged) oak trees which have stood for 300 years.

In the summer exotic Indian tents and marquees are erected in the garden, beautifully lined with block printed fabrics from Rajastan. On warm sunny mornings, breakfast can be served in a tent in the garden, looking up to the magical Chalice Hill.
