Wroxeter Roman Vineyard was planted in 1991. It nestles in the foothills of the Wrekin on a sandy plateau of the Roman City of Viroconium, enjoying a special microclimate. The vineyard is four miles East of Shrewsbury on the B4380 Shrewsbury to Ironbridge Road.
Customers are welcome to stroll around the vineyards and soak up the atmosphere of this peaceful Shropshire scene. Free wine tasting is available in the shop and customers are welcome to enjoy a glass of wine. Light refreshments are also available either in the shop cafe area or at any of the picnic areas around the vineyards.
Group tours are organised to customer's requirements and offer an explanation of the history of the location, explanations of the vineyards and wine growing, of the winery and the equipment used and tutored tastings. Flexible packages are tailored to customer's requirements.
