Once a single storey crofters cottage, the Angel Inn at Hetton in North Yorkshire with origins over 500 years old in part, probably received its licence to brew and serve beer to passing cattle drovers in the early 18th century.
Over the years it has been rebuilt and extended, but unlike so many 'contrived' country pubs, it has retained many of its original features.
All oak beams, separate rooms, nook and crannies come together to create an authentic atmosphere reminiscent of a more relaxed and bygone age.
Since 1983, it has become, above all, a place to enjoy the finest of food, good real ales and a wine list hand picked of extraordinary length and surprising value.
