Nidderdale Museum is situated in the picturesque town of Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire. A fascinating and friendly museum housed in the former workhouse, the museums 11 rooms illustrate the rural life of Nidderdale in the recent and more distant past.
The museum shows how ordinary people lived, in imaginative and realistic settings. There are sections devoted to Agriculture, Industries, Religion, Transport and Costume. The corridors are lined with photographs of local interest.
Museum exhibits include a cobbler's workshop, a schoolroom, a Victorian parlour, a general store, costumes of the 19th & 20th Century and history of transport in the Dales.
