Salisbury Museum aims to provide a lively service for the benefit of the whole community within Salisbury and South Wiltshire and its collections include: archaeological artefacts, art, ceramics and glass, costume, social history and many more. The museum caters for students, scholars, and visitors from throughout the world.
The museum has been in Salisbury since 1860 when Its life began in the Market House Salisbury. From 1864 to 1981 it was housed in St Ann Street, but since then the King's House, a grade 1 listed building, has been its home.
The museum is an independent charitable trust and its archaeological collections are designated as being of national importance. The museums collections focus upon the archaeology and history of Salisbury and South Wiltshire.
