Lane Farm is located in the gently rolling hills of South Shropshire; there are 20-mile views along the Severn River valley as far as Ironbridge. There are three village pubs within 1 1/2 miles of Lane Farm serving a wide variety of cuisine and on your doorstep entertainment.
The farmhouse itself is a character property with heavy oak beam ceilings throughout. Two rooms, a twin and a double, are available to guests. Both are en-suite, one with a large bathroom and the other with a shower. The rooms are accessed by a private stairway (hand rail fitted) from the lounge and offer a secure private residence away from the main part of the house. Guests are also welcome to use the large lounge and 0.4 acre gardens during their stay. The garden has mature flowerbeds and trees that provide a rich pattern of colour throughout the year. The garden also has a walled patio area and large gas BBQ (charge applied for BBQ use).
The residence is situated on the Shropshire Way (a 130 mile circular hiking route originating and finishing at Shrewsbury) and just 7 miles South of Shrewsbury; the County town of Shropshire. Shrewsbury boasts an ancient Cathedral and many Tudor buildings that are often better preserved than more famous cities, including Chester. There are numerous National Trust and English Heritage properties within an easy drive of Lane Farm. The Long Mynd offers especially dramatic scenery and hiking opportunities.
