Chindit House in Glastonbury, is a grade II listed building which stands in a conservation area. It was built in 1903 by master builder and one-time Mayor of Glastonbury, John Merrick as his own home. It is a grand gothic style mansion both spacious and comfortable. Merrick used this opportunity to create a building to impress future clients with the full range of skills his family firm could offer. It is his masterpiece.
In 2003 Peter and Felicity moved to Chindit and have restored it to a modern luxury family home whilst retaining all its original period features. It is spacious, comfortable and welcoming - a house with elegance and charm.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the secluded grounds at Chindit House. This old and established garden is a haven of wildlife with mature trees and spacious lawns and hedges.
