If you are looking for a scenic and quiet spot for your days fishing, there is no finer place to test your skills.
Kernan Lough lies hidden amidst the rolling drumlins of the County Down countryside, around 6 km east of Banbridge. The lough is stocked each year by Gilford Angling Club, with fish in excess of 1lb, the heaviest fish caught each season is usually around 6lb weight.
Flys such as Hare's Ears are good throughout the season. Lures such as Viva, Mallard and Claret are good in the early and late season. Most wet and dry flys provide good fishing. For the disabled, fishing stands have been erected with easy ramp access from the carpark, which has designated disabled parking.
