Local Area: The Japanese Gardens are close, and these gardens are open to the public every day. Markartan is situated very close to the new Tower Shopping Centre - only 1 block away. This centre has a newagency, chemist, greengrocer. bottleshop and bakery along with an excellent convenience store. Toowoomba boasts many parks and gardens , as well as numerous historical buildings. It is noted for superb walkways and bikeways. The annual Carnival of Flowers celebration is held in the last full week of September each year.
