The Green Park provides a tranquil restbite from the hectic pace of city living, with its mature trees and grassland, its no surprise that the park has become a favourite spot for picnicking and sunbathing in the summer months.
The 47 acres are protected, with 250,000 daffodils bursting into life every spring and therefore sporting activities are not allowed within the park, however The Green Park is a popular route for commuters, dog walkers and joggers.
The park has had a tumultuous history, as it was recorded to be the place where a rebellion occurred in 1554, against the marriage of Mary I to Philip II of Spain and it was also an infamous duelling spot until 1667.
Inside the park there are refreshment points at Ritz Corner and Canada Gate serving Bean to cup coffee, ice creams, snacks & freshly made sandwiches, open from 9am-8pm in the summer and 10am-4pm in the winter.
