Woomera Observatory

Woomera's Baker Observatory is located behind the Woomera Area School, near Breen Park. Woomera Astronomy Group was formed in 1994 by a small group of enthusiastic amateur astronomers.

Through community fundraising and donations from the Woomera Board, Defence Support Centre Woomera and a number of regional businesses the group purchased a 10" computer controlled telescope and build Baker Observatory.

Baker Observatory is available for use on suitable nights during the year with visitors asked to give a small donation. If you wish to visit the Observatory a volunteer guide will be provided to operate the telescope and answer any questions.
