Camden's Visitors' Centre was officially opened in 1989, after been restored by Camden Council. Originally John Oxley Cottage was built as a workman's cottage in the 1890's on land granted by Governor Lachlan Macquarie to the Australian explorer and surveyor, John Oxley.
The centre is run by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of volunteers who have a wealth of knowledge about Camden - its history, local attractions, historic buildings, local events and more. Camden's Visitors' Centre is not just for visitors to the area, but also for residents and anyone keen to learn the history of the area and what is has to offer.
Open 7 days a week from 9:30 am to 4 pm.
