The Blair Athol Coal Project uses 510m dragline bucket to remove overburden before reaching a seam of high quality coal up to 29m thick. This means the project reaches all coal within 100ft or 30m of the surface.
Blair Athol Coal provides a free bus tour that departs from the Information Centre in Capella Street, Clermont, and the Caravan Park in Haig Street, Clermont on Tuesdays and Fridays at 0850 hours.
