This region is about coal, the black stuff, so take a look at what that means by taking a free tour - it's more interesting than it sounds…… Blair Athol Coal Project is for those who want to discover more about the coal mining process which has sustained economic growth in this region for so long.

The Blair Athol Coal Project uses 510m dragline bucket to remove overburden before reaching a seam of high quality coal up to 29m thick. This means the project reaches all coal within 100ft or 30m of the surface.

Blair Athol Coal provides a free bus tour that departs from the Information Centre in Capella Street, Clermont, and the Caravan Park in Haig Street, Clermont on Tuesdays and Fridays at 0850 hours.
