Bushy Park is the second largest of the royal parks and has a distinctly rural feel, as about 350 free roaming deer live amid the 1099 acres. The park lies to the north of Hampton Court Palace, which is definitely worth a visit and there is still evidence of the medieval field boundaries, just south of the Waterhouse Woodland Gardens.
There are an array of sporting facilities including a riding school for the disabled and cycling for people with special needs, through the Companion Cycling Scheme. There are pitches for rugby, football, cricket and hockey, an open air pool and fitness gym, a bowling green, tennis courts and fishing in season.
The park houses a children's playground and toilets for disabled people are available. You can enjoy a quick bite to eat at the mini café serving deli style catering, which is open daily from 9am-8pm in the summer and 10am-4pm in the winter.
Some restoration projects are currently underway involving the 'Diana' Fountain, the magical Woodland Gardens and the addition of a brand new visitor welcome centre at Broom Clumps. The park offers a tranquil place to relax with a picnic in the summer months, enjoy leisurely walks or have an informal kick about with friends.
