Born in Dublin, Ireland, Oscar Wilde was one of greatest comic dramatists in the late 1800s. Wilde spent the majority of his time living on this quiet, residential street in fashionable Chelsea, surrounded by fellow artists and thinkers of the age.

The house is located close to the River Thames and visitors can admire the building where this great man resided with Constance Lloyd, until his disastrous trial for homosexual practices in 1895, after which he resided in Redding Gaol.
