Welcome to the cool-climate garden of the Botanic Gardens Trust. Mount Tomah Botanic Garden, in the world-heritage listed Greater Blue Mountains. It covers 28 hectares on the summit of a basalt-capped peak.

The Mount Tomah Botanic Garden has emphasises cool-climate plants from around the world, especially those from the southern hemisphere. The gardens is 1000m above sea level and displays an amazing array of beautiful plants, trees aand shrubs.

A walk round this 28 hectare garden takes you past the rhododendrons of the Himalayas and western China, the southern beeches of Australia, New Zealand and Chile, the giant lobelias of Mount Kenya, the proteas of South Africa, and the conifers of Europe and North America, to name but a few. Mount Tomah Botanic Garden is open from 10 am - 4pm March - September and 10 am - 5pm October - February. Closed Christmas Day

The Garden is 105 km west of Sydney (see map below). There is a charge for admission and concessions are available. Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens admitted free. Guided tours available by arrangement. Bookings for groups may be made by telephoning the Garden.
