Probably the most famous football ground in the world for probably the most famous football team in the world, Old Trafford is to Manchester United fans what Lourdes is to Catholics. While Mancunians themselves tend to support Manchester City and look somewhat derisively at their superclub rivals, "Man U" has fans from Cuba to China and Australia to Alaska. Whatever your loyalties, love 'em or loathe 'em, mention Manchester to anyone in any country and the first thing they will say will almost certainly be, "Manchester United? David Beckham?"
Old Trafford and the Manchester United Museum are interesting whatever your allegiances. Definitely take the tour if you're going - sit in the stands, wander through the changing rooms where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ruud van Nistelrooy get their kit on (and off), see the lounge where Roy Keane and Gary Neville chill out and walk along the infamous tunnel to the pitch just as Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney have. Pretty much as close to heaven as you'll get in this life if you're a United fan!
Manchester United Museum charts the history of the club and can be visited separately.
