London Bridge has been burnt down by accident, on purpose, dismantled, destroyed by storms and left to rot. It has even, famously, been sold, dismantled and moved stone by stone across the world.

The famous image of London Bridge is the medieval bridge depicted in engravings, with wooden houses along its length, market stalls and folk going about their jolly medieval daily business. It was even quite an attraction in its own right at the time so perhaps it is this fascination that has survived to this day.
