Lynch is a magnificent country house that has been sympathetically converted into self-catering apartments. Elevated high above the beautiful Vale of Porlock, Lynch Country House is situated within the Exmoor National Park (on the Somerset side) - between the picturesque villages of Allerford and Bossington, about a mile from Porlock. The house is totally surrounded by National Trust land, part of the Holnicote Estate. One can enjoy the country activities within and around the area or simply relax in the peace and tranquillity of the delightful informal grounds.
The house provides a small number of spacious self-catering apartments all of which have their own individuality and style. Each self-catering apartment is excellently appointed to a very high standard, providing cosiness and comfort. The kitchens are fully equipped with cookers, fridges and microwaves, jug kettles and the crockery, glassware and cutlery, appropriate to the number being accommodated. Coasters, place mats, chopping boards, tea towels and washing up liquid are provided, as is toilet tissue.
A number of facilities are offered. There is a detached squash court, a hard tennis court located in a delightful setting adjacent to the lake and water gardens, which has its own thatched pavilion. Or a peaceful, relaxing game of putting can be enjoyed. It is an ideal base for those on a walking holiday and there are many well made paths leading to coombes, moors and wooded hillsides.
