The Potters Bar Museum is located opposite, the timber framed building of what remains, of the medieval manor of Wyllyotts. The museum first opened in 1990, and is managed and run by volunteers, who are members of Potters Bar and District Historical Society.
The museum hosts a wide range of local history, with artefacts from archaeological excavations, including medieval finds from Wyllyotts Manor itself, finds from a Roman tile kiln, and evidence of the, earliest known inhabitants, shown by the stone tools they made.
The museum also shows the recent history of Potters Bar ,told through objects and photographs, showing the trade and domestic life of a village, and other collections that include, telephones dating from the early part of the 20th century to the present day.
