Baron Court Theatre is located in the cellar beneath the Curtains Up Pub and has been entertaining audiences for 11 years. This intimate theatre seats 60, with seats that hug the stage on three sides and primarily shows evening performances.
Due to the small size of the stage, occasionally the actors mingle with the audience, for example during the production of Antigone the chorus sat in the front row, so you get right up and close to the action.
Ron Philips the artistic director believes in staging productions that will entertain rather than restricting the theatre to one particular genre and consequently he mainly produces classics, interchanged with new works.
The Curtains Up Pub has a friendly atmosphere and draws in a big crowd at the weekends. The pub is an ideal place to grab a meal and a pint before the show commences.
