The Spaceguard Centre is part of the Spaceguard UK, which is the national focus in the United Kingdom for the studies into the threat posed to the Earth by collisions with asteroids and comets.
The Spaceguard Centre was formally the Powys Observatory, visitors are more than welcome to come and visit the centre to see what the centre does, learn about Spaceguard and experience the beauty of astronomy.
There are may great things to see at the centre including telescopes which are environmentally sealed, a 13" electronically controlled Camera Obscura the largest in Europe, a planetarium with seating for up to 25 and the weather station. After a fascinating tour, visit the shop to take home a souvenir of your day.
