The Shell Garden in Jersey, is a unique attraction started by Colin Soudain in 1957, which is now the largest in the world of its kind, featuring over a million locally collected mollusk shells.
The garden was originally started for Colin's own pleasure and he never imagined that it would become such a huge attraction. The garden has been taken over by John Morgan, but Colin now in his eighties still makes shell souvenirs for the shop.
As you enter the garden it has an ambiance of peace and tranquillity and it is so special that words cannot express its appeal. Shells are in abundance in Jersey, so the garden continues to flourish with the addition of Jersey ormers, emperor scallops, common cockles, moon shells and edible mussels.
The Shell Garden has its own shell shop with a wide range of handmade shell gifts, alongside an extensive range of natural shells, both local and from all around the world.
