Recently refurbished and under enthusiastic new ownership, The Hole in the Wall has a new lighter feel, while retaining the ambience in which some of the country's finest chefs have learned their trade. After the first year's trading the new owners were awarded 'Best Business Lunch of the Year', plus great reviews from luminaries as the Guardian as well as compliments and accolades from regular customers and new visitors. The kitchen under the guidance of head chef Mike Mills, who's worked under Rick Stein among others, has created a menu strongly themed on the superb local west-country produce. Everything's made onsite, including breads and ice creams. A constantly-changing set lunch/pre-theatre menu (12noon-3.00pm, 6-7.00pm, running all evening on Monday and Tuesday) and a fantastic a la carte menu. The Hole in the Wall aims to become a much-visited, friendly local restaurant, as well as one for special occasions. A carefully-created wine list comes courtesy of Guy Adams, Managing DiAverage price - £24.00
