Since the completion of it's restoration as a Jubilee 150 project in November 1986, this old garden has been open to the public throughout the year, and is especially appealing from about mid September until late April.
With it's well stocked beds of old fashioned perennials interspersed with typical annuals, and particularly it's collection of Heritage roses, it offers much interest to those who are themselves active gardeners and also to others who come simply to enjoy the garden for it's own sake.
Staff at the gardens are friendly and available to answer any queries. They will be there to greet you if you wish. There are often plants for sale, especially at 'Open Days' on the third Sunday of every month.
