The National Wildflower Centre is located in tranquil Victorian park, only minutes from the M62 motorway. The emphasis is on creative conservation and putting wildflowers back into Britain. The centre has seasonal wildflower demonstration areas, a working garden nursery, childrens' play area, exhibitions and interactive information about wildflowers.
A stunning modern building provides a 160-metre long rooftop walkway and houses a well-stocked shop, plant sales area and a cafe and conservatory.
The centre closes to the public at the end of August, but the cafe remains open and conference and education visits are still available.
The National Wildflower Centre has developed a successful programme of educational activities. Groups can visit the centre to learn all about the wildflowers that have been disappearing from our countryside, find out about creative conservation and how the reserve are working to improve urban areas.
