This is the place where the first police were stationed in the area. There was no town at this time, 1864. Sandalwood cutters, drovers and the first settlers were in the district and the troopers as they were called, were stationed at the water hole as an outpost from Kojonup. Recently updated as a picnic and barbeque area.
To see the memorial, leave Katanning on Daping Street, do not turn off this street. When you leave town watch for a sign on your right that indicates the police memorial. This is approximately 5 kilometres from the Daping and Clive Streets corner and the area is a reserve, suitable for a picnic.
